Blackheads are a very common skin concern. Most people use a nose strip to rid of them, but that does more harm than good. Here’s the best way to deal with blackheads!
What are blackheads?
Blackheads are the accumulation of sebum from your oil glands as well as dirt, debris, and gunk that just accumulates around a hair follicle. Those oils produces by the pores are really important. They keep our skin soft and hydrated.
Having too much buildup in your pores is going to make them look larger. So the goal is to eliminate that build up.
The goal of this post is to give you a skin care routine that will prevent that build up, eliminating blackheads.
What ingredients should you be using to prevent those black dots?
Salicylic acid
Salicylic acid it is a beta hydroxy acid that can dissolve oil when used as a cleanser. It can also work as a leave-in product to break down the oil and maybe decrease oil production. It will lift away a lot of that oil and dead skin cells. It’s also a mild exfoliant able to get into the pores and remove the builds ups.
You can find it in :
Retinoids
Retinoids, I think, are the most consistent ingredient at decreasing oil production. They increase skin cell turnover, and collagen production, and they restructure some of that collagen. In the skin care community space retinoid is obviously a favorite ingredient
Niacinamide
Niacinamide is definitely a contendant when it come to regulating oil production. It will decrease and regulate oil production in your skin.
