I absolutely love gel nail art! But if youโve ever tried to do your nails at home, you know that getting the right supplies is a STRUGGLE. Which is why, today, I am sharing with you all everything that you will need to do your gel nails at home, and where to get them!
The essentials:
UV/LED Lamp
You will need a UV or LED lamp to dry the nail polish, or โcureโ it.
You can either get a big, professional one or a smaller one. The only difference is one will dry multiple nails at once, and the other will dry one nail at a time. But both will do the job.

A Top and Base Coat
I personally got this set. It has a base coat, a no wipe top coat and a matte top coat. So pretty much all the basics youโll need to start you gel nail art journey.
Acetone
Any 100% pure acetone will do. Just make sure itโs โCosmetic Gradeโ to make sure that itโs of higher quality.
Nail File
You will need to use a nail file to file off the top layer so you can remove the gel polish.
Any rough nail file will do. However, if you want to get fancy you can get an Electric Nail Drill.
To be perfectly honest with you, using the drill is faster. You can use it to make you own nail extensions at home. But do not use it on your natural nails. Itโs very strong and can lead to some shaping mishaps. Or worstโฆ accidentally hurting your nail beds.

Gel Polish
This is the fun part were you can get to experiment and be creative. You can use all kinds of gel polishes: solid colors, translucent ones, magnetic gels, glow in the darkโฆ the options are endless!

The Fun stuff:
There are tools out there that can be useful to experiment with if you want to get some really unique designs and lean into your artsy side.
Brushes
Brushes can be used to draw cute designs or to mix colors, each brush can make specific lines so choose yours wisely.
Magnetic Stick
These nail polish magnets used in combination with the magnetic gel polish will allow you to create really cool effects like the ones in these pictures.

Stickers & Powders
My absolute favorites! You can use as many sticker and powders as you want. You can layer them, play around with designs and textures, combine different colors. The world is your oyster!
