Alternative title: Meet my Holy Trifecta
Olaplex is a bond-building treatment that started as a salon-exclusive service, now available in an at-home version. Both versions contain an amino acid complex that physically repairs the broken bonds in your hair.
Yes, it’s an immortality elixir for your hair.
That magical ingredient is present over their whole lineup of products, but the Olaplex No3 Hair Perfector contains the highest concentration. Which honestly makes perfect sense! That stuff is amazing and it’s hands down my favorite!
Let’s get on with the individual reviews shall we.
Olaplex N03 Hair Perfector
The No3 Hair Perfector is a pre-shampoo hair treatment that should be applied on damp (but not clean) hair. It’s recommended to leave it on for at least 10 minutes, but the longer the better.
I left it on for 3 hours and I have absolutely no regrets my hair felt amazing while I was shampooing it. It was so silky and smooth, almost slippery. It felt like I had used conditioner. Which makes sense; after all, it is a treatment.
After it dried. My split ends just vanished?? Into nothingness?? How is that even possible?! My hair not only looked healthier, but felt like it too. It was less “stretchy” if you know what I mean, and overall amazing.
This stuff is intense so unless your hair is really damaged, you could totally get away with using it less than once a week and still experience the desired results.
Olaplex No6 Bond Smoother
The No6 Bond Smoother is a highly concentrated leave-in smoothing creme.
Think of it as a reparative styling cream that will strengthen and moisturize your hair.
Olaplex promises frizz-free hair for up to three days. But in my experience, they’re pushing it. (but that’s where the next product comes in)
Olaplex No7 Bonding Oil
The No7 Bonding Oil is a reparative styling oil that can be applied on damp or dry hair, before or after heat styling.
It offers both UV and heat protection of up to 450°F/232°C, and will fight frizz to give you the shiniest hair you’ll ever experience.
I use this pair every time I shampoo my hair.
A little goes a long way, so be careful. I use a small amount of each, rub them together in my palms and apply the mixture to damp hair.
Whether I choose to heat style it or not, my hair looks shiny with no frizz to be seen. NONE!
And they don’t make my hair greasy, heavy, nor sticky. Just healthy, luscious and oh so pretty.
